SonAir orders six S-76C++ helicopters

SonAir has ordered six S-76C++ helicopters from Sikorsy.

The company operates five S-76C++ aircraft and four S-76C+ helicopters supporting Angolan offshore oil operations. When the helicopters from this order are delivered its fleet will consisit of 15 Sikorsky S-76 aircraft servicing offshore oil operations in Angola.

SonAir earlier signed a contract for three new S-76C++ helicopters for search and rescue (SAR) operations in Angola. Those three aircraft are expected to be delivered to Angola in 2011. In addition to serving the offshore oil and SAR markets, the helicopter’s multi-mission capabilities include VIP transport , including head of state, emergency medical transport, and civil defense.
