FlightSafety's first AgustaWestland AW139 Level D full flight simulator has entered service at the company's Lafayette, Louisiana learning centre.

FSI AW139 FFSFlightSafety’s first AgustaWestland AW139 Level D full flight simulator has entered service at the company’s Lafayette, Louisiana learning centre.

The first Initial Pilot course is now using this new Level D qualified simulator.

“We are pleased to announce the entry into service of FlightSafety’s first AgustaWestland AW139 full flight simulator,” said Greg McGowan, snior vce president Operations.

McGowan continued “Adding the AW139 training program demonstrates our commitment and ability to serve the growing number of Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement, Offshore, Firefighting, and Search & Rescue operators who value and rely upon the high quality training we provide.”

The simulator is equipped with a Honeywell Primus Epic avionics suite configured for single and dual pilot operations.

It features a four-axis autopilot, GPS with Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) capabilities, a Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), and an Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS).
