AgustaWestland receives two Japanese AW139 firefighter orders
AgustaWestland has received two orders for firefighting Japanese AW139 helicopters.
AgustaWestland announced two Japanese AW139 orders at the Heli-Expo 2014 show, which will be used fore firefighting in the prefectures of Tottori and Yamagata.
Both brand new AW139 helicopters are expected to enter operational service in the second quarter of 2015.
Andrew Symonds, president of AgustaWestland Japan, said: “The best selling AW139 has rapidly become the aircraft of choice in its category in Japan for the widest scope of public utility applications, setting standards against which all other similar class models are being measured.”
“It provides the levels of mission versatility, safety, dedicated customized equipment and performance the most demanding operators in Japan require and deserve. We are happy to add one more customer for the AW139 to support the national community,” added Symonds.
