Armed Forces of Malta firm up option for second AW139
The Armed Forces of Malta has converted the option for a second AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter.
The Armed Forces of Malta has converted the option for a second AW139 helicopter from AgustaWestland into a firm order.
The helicopter will be used to conduct mainly maritime border control missions. The delivery of the second AW139 is scheduled for June 2015, while the first helicopter will be delivered in June 2014.

The AW139 has two PT6-67A turboshaft engines with FADEC. Operators in Italy, UK, USA, Spain, Estonia, Bulgaria, Japan, Republic of Korea and Malaysia have selected the AW139 for border patrol duties, security, EMS and VIP missions.
