Airbus Helicopters opens new Donauwörth training academy
Airbus Helicopters has opened a new training academy in Germany.
The new academy provides instructional courses for pilots and technicians.
Located next to Airbus Helicopters’ product development and production facility in Donauwörth, the training academy has two full-flight simulators for the product family of the H135 and the H145 rotorcraft, along with full scale maintenance training devices that provide technicians hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair and inspection.
“The new Training Academy in Donauwörth underlines the company’s strategy to provide the best support and services for customers to carry out their demanding missions,” said Dr Wolfgang Schoder, CEO of Airbus Helicopters Germany. “It is part of a global network that encompasses 26 training facilities worldwide, and includes 22 simulators.”
The new academy also has 19 classrooms, multiple workshops and a dedicated canteen for customers. Capacity exists for future expansion, including the ability to install another flight simulator and two more maintenance training devices.
