Waypoint Leasing will open new offices in Australia and South Africa.

The company will open an office in Brisbane in April 2016, which will be headed by Chris Wakefield.

Wakefield joined Waypoint in January 2016, having worked for almost five years as part of CHC Helicopter’s aviation finance team in Dublin, Ireland. During his time at CHC Wakefield looked after the company’s Australian interests.

Waypoint’s South Africa office will be headed by Con Barber in Cape Town. The office is due to open in the second quarter of 2016.

Cape Town will cover all of Africa and the Middle East. Waypoint currently has 12 aircraft on lease to operators in Africa.

Barber previously served as the Chief Technical Officer (Fixed Wing Aircraft) with the Irish Air Corps. His role included renewing the Corps helicopter fleet. He also spent time on secondments in fleet management roles for the European Union and the Swedish Air Force.

Both Barber and Wakefield will report to Clark McGinn, Senior Vice President of Sales & Relationship Management.
