Latvia orders two Leonardo AW119Kx

The State Border Guard of Latvia has signed an agreement for two Leonardo AW119Kx helicopters for SAR, transport, firefighting and disaster relief missions.

Both aircraft will replace the operator’s two ageing AB206B Jet Rangers and will be sent out for delivery from Leonardo’s Philadelphia facility in 2019.

The contract signed also includes options for aircrew/maintenance technician training services.

Since the aircraft’s launch ten years ago. nearly 300 AW119 family helicopters have been ordered by more than 120 different customers.
