Leonardo AW109 Trekker

EASA has awarded the Leonardo AW109 Trekker its certificate and deliveries should start in the first quarter of 2018.

The AW109 Trekker is based on the AW109/Grand range of helicopters and is equipped with skid landing gear and the Genesys Aerosystems glass cockpit. It is powered by two FADEC-equipped Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207C turbine engines.

The cabin is the same size as the Grand/GrandNew and can accommodate up to six passengers, one stretcher with three/four medical attendants, or two stretchers and two medical attendants.

The helicopter is capable of single pilot operation, which allows an additional passenger to be carried in the cockpit if required.

The AW109 Trekker can be easily configured for a wide range of roles and is the ideal solution for EMS, SAR, law enforcement, utility, surveillance, passenger transport and government duties.

Leonardo has orders for more than 40 AW109 Trekkers placed by customers worldwide.
