Leonardo has opened a new maintenance base at Milano Linate Prime (SEA Prime) airport in Italy.

Maintenance services for the AW109 and AW139 for private and commercial clients are now offered in the 1,000 square meter hanger.

Vittorio Della Bella, customer support and training SVP, Leonardo Elicotteri, said: “With more than 100 support and training centres dedicated to the helicopter market all over the world and a strong commitment to constantly increase and improve our services, Leonardo confirms the mission to be close to its customers with the newest solutions, especially in the areas where they operate their helicopters.”

Leonardo opened the base to help it expand its customer capacity.

Giulio De Metrio, president of SEA Prime SpA and chief operating office of SEA SpA, said: “The agreement with Leonardo happens at a time of growth and development at Milano Linate Prime, both in terms of traffic and of infrastructures, including Milano Malpensa with the opening of the new Milano Malpensa Prime GAT, and we believe this is the beginning of a long-term collaboration between our groups.

“Milano Linate Prime has been a natural choice for Leonardo, due to the size and importance of the airport for business and general aviation traffic, including helicopters. This agreement allows us to further expand the offer of exclusive and high-level services at Milano Linate Prime, delivering additional value to our clients.”
