Air Corporate – the Italian helicopter and fixed wing charter operator and flight school – has ordered two new flight training device simulators from Spanish manufacturer Entrol.

Both are FTD Level 3 Motion grade simulators. One is intended for the Airbus light utility twin H145 helicopter and the second for the single-engine Airbus H125.

The simulators will be installed in Air Corporate’s Verona headquarters in northern Italy in a new purpose-built building. The new 1,500sqm facility will include new training and briefing rooms.

Revealing the investment at a European Rotors press conference in Cologne, Germany last week, Air Corporate’s Roberto Barsotti said: “With the purchase of these two flight simulators, our company intends to share its experience gained over many years, providing our extensive knowledge and expertise to pilots, so that all our customers will fly comfortably knowing that their safety is our priority.”

Air Corporate’s helicopter training extends beyond Italy and includes different operational and geographic areas, added Barsotti, who is the company’s head of Training.

Luis Olarte, CEO and founder, Entrol told Helicopter Investor: “FTD Level 3 devices will play a critical role in the industry due to their versatility for proficiency checks and type rating training. This, added to the Entrol Mission Training experience, makes the simulators purchased by Air Corporate ideal for their professional training needs.”

The H145 simulator will be delivered in March or April 2023, with the H125 simulator arriving with Air Corporate in the third or fourth quarter of next year, according to Olarte.

Qualifying as an approved training organisation (AT0) in 2006, the department has flown 500 hours this year and is aiming for a target of 1,000 hours next year. Air Corporate operates from 12 bases in Italy and has logged 35,000 flight hours, flying 80,000 passengers on 60,000 missions. Next year the company plans to double its 2021 revenue of €20m ($20.78m).
