Milestone signs lease deal with OHS for five Sikorsky S-92s
Milestone Aviation Group has signed lease agreements with Offshore Helicopter Services UK (OHS) for five Sikorsky S-92 helicopters. The deal includes the extension of three Sikorsky S-92 helicopters and the placement of two S-92s, which are scheduled to deliver in 2023.
The oil and gas configured helicopters will support OHS’s offshore operations in the North Sea.
Pat Sheedy, CEO, Milestone Aviation said the lessor was pleased to continue its relationship with OHS, after working together for many years. “It gives us great satisfaction to be able to support them and their new parent company, Ultimate Aviation, as they expand their offshore fleet, and we congratulate them on their new partnership,” he said.
Paul Kelsall, MD, OHS said the operator had decided to phase out first generation S92s and replace them with younger S92s as part of its fleet strategy to meet increased demand from customers and improve airframe utilisation. “This significant deal strengthens our relationship with Milestone Aviation, a key supplier, and underlines our commitment to providing clients with the very best equipment and service level,” said Kelsall.
Shaun Roseveare, CEO, Ultimate Aviation said operational excellence is vital in the North Sea. “This investment in new aircraft is key to ensuring OHS is a market leader for years to come,” he said. “Our active support for this transaction is a sign of our confidence in the vision to grow the capabilities of our offering there.”
Earlier this month Ultimate Aviation confirmed it had finalised its deal to purchase OHS UK from CHC Helicopter Group (CHC). The acquisition followed an 18-month approvals process required by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Speaking in early April, Roseveare said the approvals process had proved challenging. “But the business has now come out of the process stronger with a clear road map ahead,” he added.
