PHI Aviation appoints new director of Sustainability
PHI Aviation has appointed Jennifer Veilleux as its new director of Sustainability to create and deploy sustainability practices designed to help the company deliver its environmental commitments and achieve targets.
Reporting to Keith Mullett, MD, PHI Aviation, Veilleux will be part of the global leadership team. Mullett said: “Sustainability is a core part of our business strategy. We have created a senior specialist leadership role and taken the time to recruit the right person to lead sustainability across our organisation.”
Mullett added that the company was committed to creating opportunities and value for all stakeholders and wanted its business to support a healthier planet for future generations and to be resilient for the long term. “We are committed to being a responsible partner through the energy transition while offering alternate and more sustainable people transport solutions to a global marketplace,” he said.
Veilleux said sustainability is not just about reducing a company’s carbon footprint. “Sustainability has to flow throughout our entire organisation, from the way we work together to deliver for our customers, how we engage with communities and to the practices and policies that govern our business,” she said. The new director foresaw “huge opportunities ahead” for sustainable practices to deliver value for customers and the communities and regions.
Her career in corporate social responsibility and sustainability spans 20 years in aviation. Veilleux created, delivered and reported on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programmes that set emissions reduction goals and targets. She also “invested in career and culture building to benefit employees and delivered positive outcomes for communities, investors, customers and partners”, according to the company.
Before joining PHI Aviation, Veilleux was director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Atlas Air.
Meanwhile, PHI said it was committed to being a responsible partner in supporting the transition to renewable energy resources. “We believe that the decisions we make today should not only preserve the long-term sustainability of our business, but also make a positive difference in the world we live in,” said the company.
