NHV Group has partnered with Taiwanese company Apex Aviation to provide helicopter services for offshore wind installations in Taiwan. Helicopters will be used to support construction and maintenance of windfarm project, including personnel transportation and emergency rescue.

Joseph Kearton, vice president, Strategic Development, NHV Group said the company was delighted to join forces with Apex Aviation. “This collaboration will enable us to deliver a safe and reliable operation, mirroring the high standards our clients are accustomed to in the North Sea, in Taiwan,” he added.

The new partnership includes the provision of a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS). “In addition to this exciting partnership, NHV Group and Apex Aviation are on the verge of announcing the involvement of two prominent domestic partners in this consortium,” said Kearton. “These partners will contribute maintenance [MRO] and marine logistics services, offering a comprehensive solution to fulfil the evolving operational and maintenance requirements of the offshore wind power industry.”

Wilson Kao, chairman, Apex Aviation said the amalgamation of his team’s expertise and NHV’s  offshore wind experience will successfully introduce long-awaited helicopter services to the Taiwanese offshore wind power industry. Apex and NHV plan to expedite the certification process for helicopter operations, with a launch date targetted for the fourth quarter of 2024. Pictured is a NVH Group H145 overhead an offshore wind installation.
