LCI has leased two H175s for missions in Latin America.

Operating lessor LCI has leased two new Airbus Helicopters H175s to Omni Helicopters International; one of the largest helicopter operators in Latin America.

The two H175s will be deployed in Latin America to support Omni’s contracts and join seven other helicopters LCI has leased already to the operator. Omni flies a range of missions including: search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS) and onshore and offshore crew transport missions.

Nigel Leishman, chief commercial officer (CCO), LCI said the growing partnership with Omni Helicopters showed the lessor’s ability to meet rising demand for high-performance, efficient helicopters, which can deliver mission critical operations in Latin America.

“The H175’s modern, efficient design is enabling Omni to significantly reduce operational emissions, especially when compared with larger legacy rotorcraft or alternative crew transport modes such as ships,” said Leishman.

Meanwhile, last week, Omni Helicopters’ firm, Omni Táxi Aéreo revealed it had won a new contract from energy firm Equinor Brazil to support offshore operations in the Santos Basin. The contract will be supplied by two super-medium aircraft, including a Leonardo AW189 and an Airbus H175, and one heavy helicopter, a Sikorsky S92.

In August, LCI delivered two new Leonardo AW139 helicopters to Babcock Australasia for EMS missions across the Torres Strait and the Northern Peninsula of Queensland, Australia.
