Milestone signs three-helicopter deal with PHI

Milestone Aviation has signed three helicopter lease agreements with PHI Aviation. The deals include the placement and extension of two Sikorsky S92 helicopters and one Leonardo AW139 helicopter.

The latest agreement brings PHI’s total fleet on lease from Milestone to four, including the existing lease of one S92 helicopter. All four helicopters will be deployed in the Gulf of Mexico and Australia, transporting passengers for, what are said to be, the largest integrated oil and gas companies in the world.

Pat Sheedy, president and CEO, Milestone, said the company was delighted to expand its partnership with PHI and to support the operator’s growing global offshore operations. “With the delivery of these helicopters, we have quadrupled the number of Milestone-owned aircraft operating within the PHI fleet.,” said Sheedy. “We wish PHI continuing success and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Keith Mullett, MD, PHI Aviation, said the company looked forward to expanding its partnership with Milestone in two of its most important markets. “Increased flying activity had meant PHI’s existing, and mostly owned fleet, was fully deployed,” he said. “This arrangement with Milestone enables us to continue to meet the increased demands for the high-quality service our customers expect.”

Meanwhile, in July Milestone delivered a AW139 helicopter to Heliconia Group. The medium twin-engine helicopter will be based in Senegal and used to support the company’s offshore operations. (Image courtesy of Milestone Aviation).
